  21.     Bible, `jubile'.  Jewish Hist.  An institution, a sort of
  22.     exalted sabbatical year, the record of whose ordination
  23.     is contained in Lev. xxv. 8-17, which was to be kept every
  24.     fiftieth year (i.e. the year following the completion of the 
  25.     seventh sabbatical year), its announcement to be by the sound
  26.     of the trumpet on the Day of Atonement. It was to be observed
  27.     by the liberation of all slaves who were Hebrews, the resto-
  28.     ration to their former owners of all lands which had been 
  29.     alienated during the whole period, and by omission of sowing
  30.     and reaping of any kind and even the gathering of grapes.
