- I question your statement that only governments
- censor,government has the the most powerful form of
- censorship(the law) but individuals/groups also have
- a strong hand when it cones to censorship.The best
- example of this is the Media manipulation of
- information,this normaly doesn't mean lies but the
- careful manipulation of words and being sparse with
- the truth,things that don't suit your case become
- "alleged" incidents or get assigned to the back
- pages or get lost altogether.
- Then there is the use of labels,you can be
- ProLife/AntiChoice/RightWing or ProChoice/AntiLife/
- LeftWing depending on which side you look from.
- Probably the best example of being careful
- in your revolation of the facts is the condemnation
- of Sinead O'Connor by many groups because she ripped
- up a picture of the Pope,many of theis groups
- (especialy some WASP and Pro-Choice/Anti-Life groups)
- have been condemning the Pope for years,but now it
- suits them to support them.
