- i have a relatively large (18-20"?) ming aralia in a plastic pot (NOT my
- idea) which was fine for most of the summer but which has recently started
- dropping a LOT of leaves. Most of the top branches are gone. What I want to
- know is, is this root rot? If so, is it safe to prune the root ball / repot it
- in an unglazed pot at this time of year? If I just prune off the top branches,
- will it be OK? The rest of the foliage still seems pretty thick.
-
- I can't seem to strike a balance between too dry and soggy soil with this
- plant. (I'm always inclined to blame a plastic pot, but it may just be I
- haven't got its "rhythm" yet.) Any advice?
