- That's why thy considered themselves so "Pure"! I've read stories of the
- Monks of certain Abbeys in Europe who drank copious quantities of beer and
- wine per day, considered at the time, and under the roof of the church, as
- being a wholesome virtue, rather than an addiction. It makes me wonder what
- effect such consumption of alcohol over a _long_ period of time by _many_
- so-called "religious founders/leaders" had on the development of church
- doctrine...
