- I've been drinking swill water for the past few years. Although
- I have had my share of good/great beers, somehow I had settled
- into a comfortable routine of drinking Busch/Natural Light and so
- forth. I happened upon this group and have been drinking good
- beers lately. The best I have found is Samuel Adams Boston Lager.
-
- Let me explain why.
-
- I think it is a good transitional beer between the mega-swills and
- the more esoteric beers discussed in this group. For example, yesterday
- I sampled Pete's Wicked Ale. Granted, it was great. But, it reminded
- me of too much of the home-brew that my cousin used to brew on his farm.
- Too overpowering for my tastebuds at this point. Certainly I accept
- the fact that this may change as I gain more beer experience/appreciation.
-
- I am concerned that this SA brewmaster Koch may be some sort of psycho,
- as per the articles recently posted about him. Give him his due,
- however. He brews a good beer that can be an absolute revelation for
- the neophyte.
-
- Will we see the day soon that beers the quality of Samuel Adams compete
- pricewise with the run of the mill American beers? If SA were about
- $3.90 a sixpack versus the $5.59 it costs in my area, I am certain that
- there would be a great realignment in North American drinking habits
- (you Canadians are welcome to try it too).
