  35. I hope I can bring some light in your discussion: Eger is a Hungarian city near the Hungarian-Slovak
  36. border, famous with its heroic resistance to the Turks in the 17th century and more famous with its
  37. vineyards. Conrad is right, Egri Bikaver ("Bull's Blood from Eger") is one of the best red wines from 
  38. Hungary.

  40. David is also right. Eger is the German name for the Czech city Cheb, located in Western Bohemia
  41. in the close vicinity of German border. The domestic name of that beer is "Chebsky' Starovar" and
  42. it is a popular brand there. I do not think the taste is a result of flavoring - I would search for
  43. the cause in the technology and the water they use.
