- Frankly, Dave, I could care less about the flag. In Canada, on the whole,
- alcohol, as well as tobacco, are heavily taxed. Sin taxes, as they are
- called, are imposed to cover some of the wages of sin, to borrow from ol'
- st.Paul. Today in B.C. a cheap twelve is about 11.50, and in Manitoba all
- beer is priced equally across the board at around 13.00/12. Smokes are
- over 6.00 for 25 (quit in feb., see sin tax really works) and gas is over
- 2.00/gal. Mind you, everybody gets medical coverage, and at least in some
- provinces, it comes without any surcharge. Such is socialized life.
