- While in England last August, I attended the Great British
- Beer Festival in London, and tasted many different types
- of cask ales. This was a new experience for me; I must
- say that it was the best beer I have ever had. I was
- particularly fond of one called Norfolk Nog, from a
- brewery called Woodeford's (sp?) in East Anglia.
-
- After my return to the U.S., I began to wonder:
- Why is cask ale unavailable here? Are there laws
- against this brewing process, or is there simply no call
- for it? Can someone please explain this to me?
-
- Also, I would like to know if anyone has tried the Thomas
- Hardy's Ale, brewed by Eldridge Pope. The CAMRA people
- listed it as a bottle conditioned ale, which makes me
- think it might be similar to cask ales. I would like to
- try some, but I am hesitant to spend $12 on a four pack
- of six ounce bottles without knowing what I am getting.
-
- Thanks a lot.
