  57. "Of a similar nature".  Not my first choice of a phrase.  Some people would
  58. consider all lunatics to be "of a similar nature", and hence, Good et al, as
  59. well.  But pointing him to published books is good.  Replace "of a similar
  60. nature" with "in the field", or something similar.

  87. I think this paragraph is a big mistake.  It may be true, but going for the
  88. throat in an initial letter to the President is a bit premature I feel.
  89. Always remember that you have to get through layers of suits before anyone
  90. even remotely in a position to chew the President's ear will see it.  Going
  91. on about the "Secret Government" will send the wrong signals IMHO.  Get him
  92. interested and doing something about it and then throw the rest in his face.
  93. By all means put books on your book list that talk about this aspect.  Books
  94. (by well-respected UFO researchers) help your case - unsupported claims do not.

  96. Once the Congressional enquiries, or whatever, start, they'll be hard to stop,
  97. and the various three-letter agencies will be running scared (hopefully), but
  98. you don't want to kill your chances of getting the equiries started.

  109. thing, but likely to get through more "lunatic filters". :)

  116. Not exactly my choice either.  Then again, I'm not an American, so I don't
  117. know what the latest in pandering to the overblown American ego is. :)

  119. This is all IMHO of course.  I'm glad to see that someone is taking the
  120. initiative on USENET, but I don't want us to get shot down by an initial
  121. letter, and then be ignored forever after that.  Initial impressions are
  122. always important, especially when dealing with people that can ignore you
  123. if you don't fit into one of their neat little boxes.

  125. One more thing: add your e-mail address and mention alt.alien.visitors.  Maybe
  126. we'll get lucky and someone will be assigned to keep an eye on USENET and
  127. give us feedback on what the new adminstration is doing.  They are already
  128. reportedly on the net.  Now if only a.a.v didn't have such a fringe-element
  129. sounding name ... :-)
