  12. I am currently using a VAXstation 3100 model 38 running VMS V5.5. Connected
  13. to this, I have a CD drive (RRD42) which was purchased for the purpose of
  14. allowing us to access our CONDIST CDs. I also have a copy of Joe Meadows
  15. CD player which is similar to the DEC supplied example program DECW$CD_PLAYER.
  16. However, to use these together I have to disable the loading of the device
  17. drive for the CD drive and connect the device via sysgen as GKA500:. This
  18. allows me to use it as an audio CD player but not as a disk drive. Is there
  19. another driver available, or does someone have the know-how but not the
  20. inclination to patch the current drivers (I have the source listings! Am I
  21. allowed to patch them?) so that I can use the drive for both work and play
  22. without a reboot? Is it possible to unload a device driver? Is it possible
  23. to load two device drivers for the one device? Any answers would be
  24. appreciated!
