- Okay all you RFC822 experts,
-
- What comprises a valid username? I'm looking at RFC822 and am a little
- surprised because my interpretation of it is that "#" and "$" are legal
- characters for a username. Is this in fact correct?
-
- (The reason I ask, we're receiving messages from a username that
- contains an embedded "#" and sendmail is choking on it. I need to know
- if this is my problem or 'their' problem. And yes, this is on a U*ix
- system, not MX on our VAXen. So yes, I'm abusing this list by asking a
- non-MX question, but this is also where a lot of the mail experts live
- so please accept my apologies...)
