  12. Would this be the appropriate place to post the log of
  13. (apparently) bizarre $DIRectory command behavior with
  14. (perhaps) unconventional, but legal file names?  In
  15. particular, the $DIRectory command returns different
  16. counts depending upon syntax, which should yield the
  17. same counts.
