- Sounds like the account referred to above is a class account made
- available to students to do classwork. Contrary to some people's
- belief, these accounts are NOT private, and are not usually presented
- as such. Any system administrator who wants to avoid the screams of
- hundreds of crazed and desperate students with "disk full" messages
- on their printouts at the end of every semester is wise to encourage
- users to be thrifty.

- Most system administrators have at least a couple of other things
- to do than to waste a lot of time reading student's files, random
- checks notwithstanding.
-
- What it boils down to... there is nothing unusual, underhanded,
- dishonest, or surrepticious about a policy such as the one quoted
- from State's SICL handbook.
-
- Needless to say, this, uh, ..., mmm, "poorly conceived" warning of
- "mr markov" should not (imho,oc) reflect negatively on any efforts
- to establish the Freenet that is being proposed.

- P.S. Basically, I second everything that Mr. Gallatin posted, except,
- of course, for that crudely vicious personal attack!! ;-)
