  24. I found it interesting how rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth environmentalists
  25. love the word "decimated."  Perhaps that's because most people don't
  26. know what it means.  It sounds so much more awful to say that something's
  27. "decimated" rather than "reduced by 10%."  Not the US forests have been
  28. decimated recently -- we have more forest land today than we did at the
  29. turn of the century, and the "environmental" movement had very little
  30. to do with it.  But you won't hear that from extremist environmental
  31. candidates who believe they have to scare people to get votes.
