  61. I simply cannot understand how you justify creating an oxymoron such as
  62. "alt.wanted.moslem.GAY".  The Qur'an and the Sunnah both make it very
  63. explicitly clear what homosexuality is: a perversion of human nature.
  64. Much as I would like to live in peace with the rest of the world, I am
  65. more interested in living in peace under the approval of God.  And to
  66. put it quite bluntly, if God disapproves of homosexuality, then so should
  67. every Muslim.

  69. I believe most Muslims know the story of Prophet Lot and Sodom and Gommorah.
  70. Here is the ayah from the Qur'an describing what Lot told the homosexuals
  71. of those cities:

  73.         "What!  Of all creatures, do you approach males and leave
  74.         the spouses whom your Lord has created for you?  Indeed, you
  75.         are people transgressing (all limits)"  [26:165-166]

  77. Another ayah gives a stronger condemnation of homosexuality:

  79.         "And remember Lot when he said to his people, 'Will you
  80.         commit abominations such as none in all the world has ever
  81.         done before you?..."  [27:56]

  83. And of course the two cities were eventually annihilated by the express
  84. command of God solely on account of their disobedience on this point.

  86. The jurists of Islam have differed on the punishment of a homosexual caught
  87. in the act: either lashes as per fornication or death as per adultery.

  111.     What Qu'ran says and means is determined by each Muslim.

  113.     And furthermore, even if it is decided that the Qu'ran
  114. labels homosexuality as a sin, one may still be a Muslim and sin.

  117. Muslims.

  142. positive that the majority of practicing Muslims who subscribe to these
  143. newsgroups, would be in complete agreement with you.

  145. I don't know if the original poster actually believed that such a person
  146. existed.  We know that there are some Arab and Persian men who are homosexual
  147. (even though the percentages are low), but it is definitely an oxymoron to
  148. tie Muslim men and homosexuality together.

  151. poster could subscribe to another newsgroup as applicable and/or suggest 
  152. another name that would be more appropriate.
