  12. The child cowers in the corner, eyes wide with fright.

  14. "Goddamnit get over here and watch this"

  16. He yanks the child by the nape and drags him to the window.
  17. Outside, houses explode, burn, fill the sky with smoke.

  19. He watches the sight and butterflies fill his chest.  A smile
  20. creeps across his face.  He looks down at the boy but the child
  21. is cowering in the corner.  
  22.  
  23. Again the man drags the child back to the window, this time tearing
  24. down a curtain and tying the child to the frame, carefully avoiding
  25. the shards of glass.

  27. "You can learn to love this.  It shall never stop"
  28.  
  29. The man unfolds a lawn chair and places it next the child.  Eventually
  30. falling asleep.
