  24. First off, of the acts that are mentioned above only one has issued its
  25. first release after 1977, that being Vanilla Ice, probably the most
  26. derivative artist of the entire rap genre.  Your first problem is
  27. you need to take a listen to some more music, hopefully some of it
  28. developed after 1977.  The UK bands you name were indeed great, but
  29. the examples of US groups you name don't do justice to the country that
  30. invented rock and roll.  You also do serious injustice to Micheal Jackson,
  31. who whether you realize it or not did record prior to THRILLER and has
  32. contributed numerous great tracks to popular music.  The last thing I'd like
  33. to do is just list a few quality American bands that you should
  34. check out, if you already haven't: (my apologies if any of these bands aren't
  35. actually American)

  38. Bros, Parliament/Funkadelic, the JBs, Metallica, Anthrax, Black Crowes,
  39. Allman Brothers, Little Feat, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Public Enemy, Digital
  40. Underground, Arrested Development, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fishbone,
  41. J Geils Band, Nirvana, Mudhoney, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Kinsey Repor,
  42. Professor Longhair, Grateful Dead, New Grass Revival, Bela Fleck and the
  43. Flecktones, Firehose, Defunkt, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, and what the F--k, 
  44. old VAN HALEN!!!!
