- I wonder who the NRA is going to endorse, in the Presidential Election?
- I mean, President Mush is perfectly likely to turn on anybody, if the
- wind is blowing against them. I've heard that Clinton is in favor of
- banning some types of firearm. My heart tells me to vote Libertarian
- but I don't want to see Mush win again.
-
- Hmm, maybe I should contact the local Clinton office, advise them of
- these statistics *:
-
- 89% of registered voters believe the Constitution gives them RKBA
- 87% of registered voters would oppose a law giving police the power
- to decide who may own a firearm
- 91% of registered voters agree that registration of handguns will not
- prevent criminals from getting or using them
-
- and
-
- 71% of the police support the right of law-abiding citizens to purchase
- ANY kind of firearm
- 88% do not believe that a ban of "military type" long rifles will reduce
- criminal acquisition of them.
-
- *The first three stats are from a survey of 1500 registered voters, performed
- by Decision Making institute; taken from Alan Gottlieb's "Gun Rights Fact
- Book". The second 2 come from the 1989 Law Enforcement Officers' Poll of
- 16,000 police chiefs and sheriffs, conducted by the National Association
- of Chiefs of Police; taken from a handout produced by the Citizens Committee
- for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

- To say that Bill Clinton's alleged successes as Governor of Arkansas
- qualify him to be President of the US is like saying the shoeshine
- stand operator in the airport is qualified to be CEO of IBM.
