- The Rodney King verdict is indicative, I believe, of deep-rooted racism in this
- country that is allowed to persist! If Bush would foster a political climate
- that welcomes diversity and doesn't perpetuate fear of blacks, women, other
- minorities, then we wouldn't have verdicts that lay the blame on the victim:
- in this case a muscular black man.

- The recession is easing? Where? Have you heard the latest unemployment
- figures? I do applaud Bush for extending unemployment benefits....but that's
- where my applause ends. Here in Ohio our economy is not any better than it was
- four years ago (or 12 years ago when Reagan took the helm) -- it is worse.
