- Last night I had a dream, the contents of which I have forgotten. My
- head spun about, rotating about my Medulla Oblengata, without cause
- or explanation. I could only take in pieces of my surroundings as they
- were flying by at a great speed. There was some purpose laying hidden
- inside the congealing darkness which prodded me subtly. A voice began
- to speak in tongues, a language of the future, with a hint of the past.
- It reached out to me echoing and surrounding gingerly my center.
-
- I became aware of the outside and its cold light. I wanted to return to
- my coffee haven - to be alone and free to do as I wish without the scorn
- and contempt from the foolish and uncaring ones. This was impossible, for
- the exit had closed behind me and I was exposed. Wind tore through me,
- stealing pieces of my body and stretching me horizontally. I was
- dissolved.
-
- I saw the school bus drive by, yellow and fearsome. Children were crushed
- underneath its black tires, not screaming but writhing in pain. It must
- not have noticed my presence for I was a third party. I don'
- t think I was really there at all.
-
- There was a great fire burning with dark greasy smoke spiraling into the
- sky. From the fire emerged 20 dogs with blood red eyes. Their names were
- secrets long lost in the past, and now are only known as the Hunters, as
- none can escape their sense of smell. Again I watched as an outsider,
- invisible to all, as the dogs carried out the task for which they had
- come. After it was finished, the dogs set upon themselves, biting and
- tearing until all were gone. As the last one fell, a great silence fell,
- and remained into eternity.
-
- After a great time, the stars and earth winked out of existence, and all
- energy was expended through the hole in the universe. Again I returned to
- my coffee parlor to spend the days. I was at peace.
