- Far be it for me it inject any facts into this discussion, but Mr.
- Nyikos is not quite correct here. Before the FOCA left the House
- subcommittee, two ammendments were added to it. One of these
- permits states to enact parental consent laws. (The other permits
- individual doctors - but not institutions - to refuse to perform
- abortions if they are counter to the doctor's personal convictions.)
- The FOCA does not "go far beyond Roe v. Wade" but rather was
- designed to codify the intent of the original Roe v. Wade decision
- into law.
