- Bush's 'conversion' was purely political. He was pro-choice when running
- in the '80 primary, and made the change ONLY when selected for Veep by
- Reagan. Such a conversion can hardly be shown to be based on a change of
- convictions.

- Bush has already admitted his willingness to do *whatever it takes* to get
- elected. It would appear that in 1980 he decided to do whatever it took to
- get on the ballot with Reagan.
