  33.      Why is the APS vehemently against SSF?  If we ignore possible
  34.      selfish funding considerations, the stated objection is that
  35.      it 'is not science'.  Well, there will certainly be science
  36.      done on the space station.  So the objection boils down to
  37.      'it is too much money for so little science'.

  43.      P.S. I don't see APS officers testifying before Congress about
  44.      chiropractors or astrology, or the NIH funding studies of homeopathy
  45.      or even objecting to SSC supporters selling their project on the
  46.      basis of the engineering advances in cryomagnets.  I wonder
  47.      why the 'sanctity' of science is not of overwhelming importance
  48.      in these cases?
