- Why is the APS vehemently against SSF? If we ignore possible
- selfish funding considerations, the stated objection is that
- it 'is not science'. Well, there will certainly be science
- done on the space station. So the objection boils down to
- 'it is too much money for so little science'.

- P.S. I don't see APS officers testifying before Congress about
- chiropractors or astrology, or the NIH funding studies of homeopathy
- or even objecting to SSC supporters selling their project on the
- basis of the engineering advances in cryomagnets. I wonder
- why the 'sanctity' of science is not of overwhelming importance
- in these cases?
