  15. Hi everyone. Here'a an opportunity for postdocs to get all their
  16. gripes off their chests. I'm a writer for Science magazine and
  17. for our upcoming special issues on Careers in Science I'm writing
  18. an article broadly titled "The Lot of a Postdoc" So tell me what's good
  19. and bad about being a POSTDOC IN 1992.  Some of the obvious issues I'm looking
  20. for input on are:
  21. Preparation for future teaching, if any
  22. Money woes
  23. Foreign Postdocs--do you look for the same benefits out of your experience
  24. US Postdocs in Europe
  25. Multiple Postdocs!!!
  26. Postdoc while trying to raise/support a family
  27. Postdocs in industry
  28. Postdocs in small schools, big schools, small and big labs
