  12. A quick comment on the role of the wavefunction/density matrix
  13. in consistent histories (ala Hartle & Gell-Mann):
  14. There is an initial condition (i.e. initial density operator) to be specified
  15. in the decoherence functional.  The initial conditions will  determine in part
  16. which histories decohere, and are quasi-classical.  The specific dynamics, and
  17. choice of coarse graining will also be important.

  20. A variation of this scheme included two density operators for both initial and
  21. final conditions. This seemed to be an attempt to remove the apparent
  22. introduction of time asymetry by hand. I hope the proposal has died a quiet and
  23. painless death. :)
