- One problem comes to mind in these cases, sometime ago it was mentioned
- that attempts to infect monkeys by injecting the pure virus into them
- failed. I've seen several other mentions of the virus needing to be
- in a cell to sucessfully cause an infection. If this is true then the
- time that matters isn't how long the virus can live outside the body
- but how long an infected cell can survive.
- 1) Is this factoid about the pure virus true?
- 2) How long can a cell survive outside the body? (I'm guessing hours at
- worst?)

- I'm also curious if HIV has ever been spread via shared tooth brush, of
- any casual means of transmission this would seem the most likely since
- blood to blood contact can happen.
