  16. One problem comes to mind in these cases, sometime ago it was mentioned
  17. that attempts to infect monkeys by injecting the pure virus into them
  18. failed. I've seen several other mentions of the virus needing to be
  19. in a cell to sucessfully cause an infection. If this is true then the
  20. time that matters isn't how long the virus can live outside the body
  21. but how long an infected cell can survive.
  22. 1) Is this factoid about the pure virus true?
  23. 2) How long can a cell survive outside the body? (I'm guessing hours at
  24.    worst?)

  26. I'm also curious if HIV has ever been spread via shared tooth brush, of
  27. any casual means of transmission this would seem the most likely since
  28. blood to blood contact can happen.
