- No, I'm saying that the Carbohydrate Addicts diet suggests two low-carbo
- meals (I stole the number 12 from another low-carbo diet recommended
- in the book Type II Diabetes) to manage carbohydrate cravings. The
- only restriction on the third meal is that you have to finish eating
- in an hour, but you can have as many carbs as you want.

- Well, good for you. However, I am only going to be able to maintain
- my 100 pound loss (at this eating level) if I keep up my 900 calorie
- a day exercise habit. But I want to lose another 25, which really
- means I have to get my eating under control. And I want to do this
- anyways, because I'm tired of beating myself up for overeating, even
- if I'm not gaining weight.
-
- Some of this is "I like to eat", some of this is psychological (Jung
- supposedly said "all neurosis is based on the attempt to avoid
- legitimate suffering") and some of it may well be physiological. It
- may well be that spending years greatly obese screws up the body's
- ability to eat like a normal person.
-
- At this point, there are really no good screening tools that help us
- figure out what percentages of gluttony, psychology, and physiology
- contribute to any one person's obesity. So all I'm saying is that
- I am trying different things to see what works for *me*. Your loss
- may be inspirational (and the fact that you've kept it off for
- years admirable), but when it comes down to it, just because you can
- eat all the carbos you want doesn't mean that everyone else can.
