- For the last 2 months, I've been experiencing symptoms of labrynthitis,
- so says the doctor.
-
- He prescribed an anti-histamine and said it would make the symptoms
- go away. The only thing it did was make me drousy. It did not
- improve my condition, so I stopped taking it after a week.
-
- Additional notes:
-
- 1) I can distinctly feel that this whole thing is on the left
- side of my head only.
-
- 2) On the left side, it feels like there is a slight pressure surrounding
- my ear.
-
- 3) On the left side, there is a slight tingling sensation on my scalp
- about 2.5 inches above my ear every now and then.
-
- 4) The symptoms occasionally intensify momemtarily when I stand up from
- sitting down.
-
- 5) This happend to me once 3 years ago, but it felt more light headed
- than dizzy and last 6 weeks.
-
- 6) This is the same side I used to get intense headaches behind the
- eye when I was about 9 - 14. The headaches would usually come the
- same time every year(September). I doubt they are related to this
- but I thought it should be brought up.
-
- 7) The symptoms seem to improve slightly at night.
-
- 8) It makes turning my eyes side to side distracting.
-
-
- Could this be something other than movement in the semi-circular canals?
- If it is, what could be causing it for this lenth of time.
-
- If is not, what else could be causing these symptoms? What biochemical
- imbalances? I am slightly hyper-thyroid, but no more so than everyone
- else in my family. I am also slightly hypo-glycemic. I think most
- adults are, even if they don't know it.
-
- What about brain tumors?
-
-
- Any insights would be most appreciated.
-
- I am seeing a doctor tomorrow, but will entertain speculation since
- doctors often misdiagnose anyways.
