- Theorist has a great user interface. Miles ahead of Maple or Mathematica.
- The formulas you see on the screen look like real math. Do computations
- using mouse and menus. For example, to solve an equation for x, grab the x
- and drag it to the left side of the equation. To substitute one formula
- in another, grab it and drag it to where you want it substututed.
-
- On the other hand, Theorist has only rudimentary programmability, a minimal
- library. Many, many, problems that Maple and Mathematica can do automatically
- cannot be done (except by hand) using Theorist. What would be ideal would
- be the Theories interface on the Maple libraries. But I do not see it coming
- soon. I have (and frequently use) both Theorist and Maple.

- Much superior to the interface on line-oriented terminal computers. Uses
- a "notebook" metaphor, like Mathematica. Cut and paste formulas.
- Go back and edit a mistaken entry. There now exist Sun and NeXT
- versions of Maple with similar capabilities.
