  28.         SymbMath (an abbreviation for Symbolic Mathematics) is not
  29. only a symbolic calculator but also an expert system that can solve 
  30. symbolical math problems. SymbMath will also perform exact numeric 
  31. computation. It can manipulate complicated formulas and return answers 
  32. in terms of symbols, formulas and exact numbers. 
  33.     SymbMath is different from other software. 
  34.         (1) It is able to learn from users.  If users only input one 
  35.         formula (e.g. one derivative) without writing any code, 
  36.             it will automatically learn many problems (e.g. 
  37.         derivatives, indefinite and definite integrals) related 
  38.         to this formula.
  39.         (2) Users edit the library (e.g. integral tables) in "formula 
  40.         format" by any text editor. 
  41.         (3) It runs on small IBM PCs with 640 KB under MS-DOS. 
  42.         Its capabilities include facilities to provide analytical and 
  43. numerical answers for:
  44.          o  Differentiation: regular or higher order, partial or
  45.             total, mixed and even implicit differentiation,
  46.         one-sided derivatives.
  47.          o  Integration: indefinite or definite integration, 
  48.             multiple integration, infinity as a bound, parametric
  49.             integration, iterated integration, line or surface 
  50.             integrals, discontinuous or implicit integration.
  51.          o  Solution of equations: roots of a polynomial, systems of
  52.             algebraic or differential equations.
  53.          o  Manipulation of expressions: simplification, factoring or 
  54.         expansion, substitution, evaluation, built-in standard or 
  55.         user-defined functions.
  56.          o  Calculation: exact and floating-point numerical 
  57.             computation of integer, rational, real and complex
  58.             numbers in the range from minus to plus infinity, even
  59.             with different units.
  60.          o  Limits: real or complex limits, one-sided limits, 
  61.             indeterminate forms.
  62.      o  Complex: calculation, functions, derivatives, integration.
  63.      o  Sum and product: finite or infinite, partial.
  64.          o  Chemical calculation: molecular and atomic weights,
  65.             concentrations (all by entering the symbols of the
  66.             chemical elements).
  67.          o  Chemical reactions: inorganic and organic. 
  68.          o  Other: series, lists, arrays, vectors, matrices, etc.
  69.     Also included are:
  70.          o  Pull-down and pop-up menus, sizable and colourable windows.
  71.          o  Twin screen text editor with syntax check.
  72.          o  Programming in integrated edit-interpret-debug environment.
  73.          o  Reading and generating BASIC and FORTRAN codes.
  74.          o  Displaying two-dimensional math notation.
