  13. I can use ParametricPlot3D to draw a sphere but how can I change the
  14. surface shading or coloring to my own desires?  What I want is a sphere
  15. with dark bands running parallel to the equator, say 3 band above and 
  16. below the equator.  Then a sphere with "lemon wedge" bands running 
  17. parallel to the meridians. All this is to show how the earth is modeled
  18. for higher order gravitational terms.
