- No, Andrew...I am from Rochester. Yes, I am aware we prefer "Western NY"
- to "Upstate", but the "upstate" description means different things to
- an upstater and to a downstater. The "downstater" (a person fromthose regions
- near NY City) call anything else "upstate". If you're from northern NY State,
- you would almost invariably say you are from "the north country". And that
- wonderful accent that we have from Syracuse westward to Buffalo sets us
- apart from most of the rest of the state. I will be pleased to treat my
- British hosts to this unique accent. At the same time I will enjoy theirs
- and marvel at the rich diversity.
-
- Chicken wings are the greatest culinary treat when the sauce is "nuclear"
- and the flames blast forth from the nose and mouth.
-
- Well, i think we've talked this thread to death, especially since it no
- longer deals with "math hegemony".

- Yours,
- Don 'Born in Rochester' Muench (Go Bills!)
