  15. I'll bite.  Why is a one millimeter per year raise in sea level
  16. important?  That's a meter in a thousand years.

  18. I remember some years ago there was a claim that the level in the
  19. deep ocean below which the temperature is 4 degrees C has been rising
  20. irreversibly for perhaps a few million years and that it would eventually
  21. have some catastrophic effect - I forget what.
