- Is anyone here a member of the National Society of Professional
- Engineers (NSPE)? Any opinions of it?
-
- I am currently a grad student in electrical/computer engineering
- and am a student member of the IEEE. After passing my E-I-T exam
- I received an invitation to join the NSPE, but I "filed" it be-
- fore really considering it (I was also working at the time and
- didn't think it was worth the cost). Now, as I near my eligibil-
- ity for taking the PE exam, I think it is worth considering. Al-
- so, I think they had low cost student memberships available.
-
- I vaguely remember reading in _EE Times_ about IEEE vs. NSPE bat-
- tles. I am definitely for a professional engineering group which
- promotes all engineering and not just specialties. Whether or not
- registration should be required is another matter--I am personally
- for it, but realize that it'd be almost impossible to implement.
