- If you want a quick and dirty Jacob's Ladder, go get yourself a high
- voltage transformer that steps 120v up about 15,000v. I did this with
- with a shoebox sized 15kv transformer and a couple of straightened coat
- hangers for Halloween one year. 15kV will need about 1/2 to 3/4 inch of
- gap to get started. The arc will travel up the wires and stretch out to
- 3 inches or more. Neat stuff! Good luck. Don't kill yourself; this type
- of stuff can be very dangerous around kids.
