- Well, Derrick, I'll toss this idea out, for free! If you have the
- drill press and other basic tools, you should be able to build a
- lead-screw stage pretty easily... It may not have all the bells and
- whistles you asked for, but it should work. I would recommend a
- base frame of Aluminum bar stock, or even plywood, with two rails
- of steel dowl rod, say 1/4", running front-to-back. Add a third
- rail, preferably near (but not ON) center, made of 1/4-20 all-thread.
- Put a little handwheel on the front end, and you could notch the
- wheel to 'click' into place every revolution. Riding on this base
- assembly, make a similar carriage with the lead-screw running
- left-to-right.

- The lead-screws would give you 0.050" steps, actually better than
- 0.100", since you could hit intermediate grid points for vias
- more easily.
