- In my days at Middle School, I was a member of the Stage and Lighting
- Crew. We'd do the lighting from a recessed booth about halfway back
- in the auditorium.
-
- One time, during a dry run of some production, a friend was focusing an
- instrument from the edge of the booth. The light ran on 240V, had a metal
- exterior, and the power cable that went into it had stripped. He turned
- the light, and the lead touched the case, which he was holding with one
- hand on each side.
-
- He was stuck to the light.. I had to pry each hand off the light, right
- on the edge of the lip.. both he and I were very lucky that we didn't
- fall..
-
- He was conscious during the event, but as soon as I pried him away, he
- passed out on the lip for about 15 minutes. Very scary.
-
- Moral: Don't EVER work with equipment that has stripped cables..
