- A friend of mine has a Blaupunkt AM/FM cassette car stereo radio with a
- feature called ARI.
- The manual describes ARI as a method of receiving emergency
- traffic messages. The manual also states that Selected FM
- stations in many areas of the United States and Canada broadcast
- these messages.
-
- I took a look at the schematic and it appears to be a 57KHz
- sub-carrier similar to the 67KHz and 92KHz SCA sub-carrier
- signals used by many FM stations.
-
- I am wondering if by tuning the 57KHz adjustment coil would it be
- possible receive SCA signals at 67 or 92KHz??
-
- The earlier ads for the Philips DC-777 Car Stereo with cassette
- and shortwave also advertised this ARI feature. Anyone own one
- of the earlier DC-777 try to receive SCA broadcasts by retuning
- the 57KHz circuit??
