- A couple of years back the power feed to our house shorted to the ground
- wire, which was grounded through our water pipes. The effect was that
- the water in the pipes started to boil and the pipe burst. Unaware of
- what had caused the rupture, I tried to shut off the water. Boy was I
- surprised when I discovered what I had always assumed to be the most
- perfect ground was suddenly painfully electrified. I was even more
- surprised when shutting off the main breaker to the house didn't keep
- the sparks from flying. I didn't figure out what had happende until I
- saw that the ground wire was glowing red hot where it entered the house.
- Why the h*ll don't they ground those things *outside* of the house???

- I read in the paper that some drunk in Germany peed of a bridge and onto
- an overhead line for a streetcar. The guy didn't live to tell about his
- experience. I'm not sure I would want to live through that either. OUCH!!!

- Watch where you pee!!
