- It's a diagram that one can use to understand the causal structure of
- a spherically symmetric (black hole) spacetime. One uses a conformal
- transforamtion to represent the entire (infinite) manifold in a
- finite diagram. It would be difficult to explain well with ASCII
- graphics. If you can get your hands on a copy of "Gravitation" by
- Misner, Thorne and Wheeler they give an brief introduction in Chapter
- 34. A better (in my opinion) explanation can be found in Hawking and
- Ellis's "The Large Scale Structure of Space-Time", but for the
- uninitiated, this book is rather heavy going. Hope that helps. If not,
