- No, there aren't any, but this is not relevant since according to Tom the
- QSOs got there by traveling after the supernova explosions. Now here's a more
- relevant question to answer: Do QSOs have supernovae in them? Answer: Yes!
- For instance, QSO 1059+730 was photographed with and without a supernova
- explosion right next to the image of the core. An absolute magnitude of
- about -18 has been derived from the (cosmological) redshift of the QSO,
- i.e., in line with the QSO being the bright core of a far away galaxy.

- I recall a much earlier situation with Stephen's Quintet, where supposedly
- four higher redshift galaxies are 'interacting' with a fifth lower redshift
- guy. I think the supernova appeared in the higher z guys and its brightness
- was in line with their larger cosmological distances (ie not at the distance
- indicated by the lower z galaxy).
