- It's great to see Alpha Phi Omega propaganda on USENET. As I read your
- article, I was mentally kicking myself - why didn't I think of this?
-
- One of my missions is educating the scouting movement about APO, and
- vice-versa. Sadly, few Boy Scouts (or any other kind of scouts) have
- heard of APO. That little paragraph in the Handbook just doesn't seem
- to do it (though the article on APO in _Scouting_ some time ago was
- wonderful). Just imagine the recruiting base, if every current or
- former scout entering college knew to look for an APO chapter, we
- wouldn't have to go to such lengths to recruit people. And as far
- as benefitting scouting, APO has much to offer. For example, some
- troops have a hard time organizing service projects, but APO chapters
- typically do several in a week, and scouts could be invited along.
-
- Well, I could go on about my crusade ad nauseam, so I'll stop with a
- request. If you're not sure what APO is, or you want to know how
- APO and scouting can help each other, send me e-mail and I'll be glad to
- help.
-
- By the way, any other current or former APO brothers out there?
