  10. If at all possible, you should try to run the Marine Core Marathon in D.C., set
  11. for October 25.  A superb and scenic (and not difficult) course for first time
  12. marathoners.  The race is managed to perfection by the Marines, and the crowds
  13. are *always* large and enthusiastic.  I cannot imagine a better marathon for a
  14. first timer.
