- Yes, the two parks are only about an hour apart, with Busch Gardens being
- southeast of KD.
-
- KD has far more coasters than BG. These include the Rebel Yell (wood racer;
- new for this year, the Rebel Yell has one train operating backward), the
- Grizzly (another wooden coaster), the Shockwave stand-up, the Anaconda
- (multi-element steel), and the Avalanche Bobsled. Also to be included
- is the Scooby-Doo kiddy coaster. The woodies are great, but the Shockwave
- doesn't impress me. I haven't been on the two newest coasters, but my
- friends and sibling who've been on the Anaconda and the bobsled haven't
- been overly thrilled.
-
- Busch Gardens, on the other hand, only has 3 coasters--the classic Loch Ness
- Monster (two inversions, fun drop), the Big Bad Wolf (one of the better
- suspended coasters) and the new Drachen Fire. I've always been a bit bored
- by the Loch Ness Monster. The theming is pretty good, but the ride is just
- a bit lacking. The Big Bad Wolf is spectacular. One of my favorite coasters.
- Incredible theming on an intense ride. There's nothing like the front seat
- on a suspended coaster! The Drachen Fire is a fairly brutal ride; very
- impressive. The only thing lacking is a serious drop, and that doesn't
- detract from it.
-
- Deciding which park to visit will depend on your tastes. If you prefer
- wooden coasters to steel, KD is the only way to go. On the other hand
- BG as a park is much more pleasant than KD.
