- Hi guys,
-
- Gary and I just got back from our honeymoon and I wanted to update
- people on our coaster experiences. We stayed in a little town 4 miles
- south of the Quebec/Vermont border about 50 miles due south of Montreal.
- We got to a lot of mountains/alpine slides, etc, but our effort to do
- coasters was a bust. We went to Montreal on a Wednesday and couldn't
- get into La Ronde at 1:30 in the afternoon. They were holding a huge
- throng of people at the gate (while people from the aquapark were
- walking around inside) and were not admitting them. We couldn't find
- anybody who could or *would* speak english to us, so we hiked across the
- island to the metro station and took it to the city to find a restaurant
- (and a bathroom). When we came back, it was so crowded that we couldn't
- see paying 17.25 can to ride 3 times each. Anyway, we headed off to
- Quebec City. Although we couldn't find the indoor coaster there, it was
- a great city--much more "french" and much friendlier than Montreal.
-
- My advice on Montreal--go with a large ACE group and plan for huge
- crowds even on summer weekdays. Quebec is great, but the AAA tourbook
- doesn't have a mention of this park and the maps suck--so don't go on a
- whim like we did (the food in the old section was heavenly, though!) we
- will definitely be back. The bed & breakfast where we stayed is a must,
- also. This place is destined to be an ACE must-stay!
-
- Happy Coastering...
