  13. I am posting this information for Bill Lewis.  I think that he would
  14. make a great candidate for this years Tripoli Board of Directors.
  15. As it stands we have three offices open and only three people are running,
  16. one of which is ANTI-NAR.  
  17.  
  18. Because one of the candidates is anti-NAR Bill decided to run as a 
  19. write in candidate.  PLEASE SERIOUSLY CONSIDER HIM AS A WRITE IN CANDIDATE.
  20. It is very important for the NAR and Tripoli to work together -
  21. the only way to accomplish this is to elect open (NAR) minded Tripoli
  22. Board of Directors.

  36.     Enclosed with this letter is the resume of my application,
  37. which was recently "posted" on the Compuserve Modelnet.  Please
  38. read it carefully.

  40.     I am asking to be a write-in candidate for this years election
  41. for the Board of Directors.  Since ballots have already been sent
  42. out time is running out to contact the Members of Tripoli, and so
  43. I am asking for your help.  When you receive this letter, if you have
  44. any names attached, would you please contact them and let them 
  45. know that I am running for a write-in candidate.

  48. will work hard toward a balanced an equal representation of information

  63. This communication is being sent to request your write-in vote for
  64. a Board of Directors position.

  66. In consideration of my candidacy, be advised that I am supportive of
  67. working with the NAR, at the National, as well as the Prefect, to NAR
  68. section level.  I support and believe that both Tripoli and Nar must
  69. continue to work together, in order to preserve the hobby.  I believe
  70. this position is different than the current "no choice" slate, where
  71. one candidate, Dennis Wacker, is running on a policy of a "NOt-Pro NAR"
  72. and wishes to return our organization to its "former" status.

  74. If I am elected, I will champion changes toward a more effective communication
  75. channel between the Tripoli Board and the Prefecture Organizations.
  76. I will also work at establishing a bilateral education policy, aimed
  77. toward Colleges and Universities, by opening up our launches, meetings
  78. and communications, for student projects and payloads, Tripoli Member-
  79. ship Advisory; and a request for a College/University Advisory Panel within
  80. the framework of our Board/Organization.

  82. I am 49 years of age, married with four children. I have have several College/
  83. University degrees in the Sciences and Engineering fields. I an a Veitnam
  84. Veteran, the holder of several Patents and Patent Awards, and I an employed
  85. by IBM Corporation, as a Staff Engineer/Scientist at the Advanced Magnetic
  86. Recording Laboratory (AMRL) in San Jose, California, where I live.

  88. I participate at several levels of Rocketry.  I am a NAR memeber (Sr. 49130),
  89. a Tripoli Prefect (AERO-PAC, Prefecture #23, Nor. CAL/NV) and a member
  90. of the Reaction Research Society (RRS).  Currently I an contributing my
  91. time toward changing the feeing structure imposed by the California State
  92. Fire Marshals office, on model and high power rocketry.  I have previously
  93. contributed towards this effort by speaking before the Fire Marshals
  94. hearing on this subject in Sacramento.  As a result of that Hearing I
  95. have been asked by the Fire Marshals office to be an Advisor on the "Fees
  96. and Education" Committee.  I also have contributed to the current Tripoli
  97. Non-Profit Tax Status, by putting together a substantial document that
  98. I feel was instrumental in establishing the status we currently enjoy.

  100. As a member of the Tripoli's Education Committee I have worked with Mr.
  101. Chuck Mund, in the support of the ISY Outreach Program, to establish AERO-
  102. PAC's Black Rock Launches as "Openings" for student launches and payloads.
  103.  
  104. The AERO-PAC Orginization, which I founded as a Prefecture has been in
  105. existance since 1989.  We had our first launch in May 1990, and our
  106. second launch, Black Rock II, is still considered "The worlds Highest
  107. Power Launch" for High Power Rocketry.  In 1991 and again this year we
  108. will be "Home" to LDRS.  Although I cannot take credit for the many contri-
  109. butions necessary for such achievements, I have worked diligently with
  110. the FAA, BLM and other external/internal policy makers at establishing
  111. our launches at Black Rock as a Tripoli Cornerstone.

  113. I am not just a vote person; I am a doer, achiever, and I will work for
  114. you the Rocketeer/Consumer at bettering rocketry as both a hobby and aero-
  115. science.  I believe I can work with others and can appreciate others with
  116. views and energies not of my own.  I understand the synergy of fostering 
  117. a "win-win" relationship, when diplomacy is necessary and when proactive
  118. values are required to achieve sought after goals.

  121. and share in the values, direction and goals I have then please
  122. write my name on the voting card.  You will not be disappointed!
