- This is directed at how to properly treat NiCads to avoid having to
- dispose early. I'm new with RC. I know enough about NiCads to know
- they should not be "light" cycled which will result in a burned in
- light cycle memory.
-
- The person that is helping me learn to fly has a box that he made from
- an artical in an RC publication some time in the past that he plugs in
- to the battary pack via the charger connection, but will discharge the
- pack to a fixed limit. Unfortuantely he could not have the article.
- And though the circuit is simple, I was unable to identify all of the
- components to my satisfaction.
-
- To my questions.
-
- 1. Does anyone know the reference to the article?
- 2. Do people have an opinions on the use of such a device?
- 3. Do people have other recommendations on the proper treatment of
- the battaries. Like after returning home do you turn on the
- equipment and let it run for a couple of hours to ensure cycle
- before recharging for the next days outing?
-
- I expect some of these issues are discussed in the FAQ sheet, I have read it
- once, but lost both my hardcopy, and its net location, and do not
- recall its contents well enough to feel that I am handeling my new
- equipment properly.
