- The car I own is a 1970 FIAT 124 Spider. The manual states that
- premium gasoline should be used. I know in 1970 premium gasoline
- had lead in it, but the only fuel available now is unleaded.
-
- I guess my questions are something like this:
-
- What is the difference between leaded and unleaded fuel, and
- what purpose does (did) the lead serve?
-
- Does my engine care whether or not the lead is there?
-
- If I need to use a lead additive, which brand is good, or
- what specifically should I look for?
-
- Thanks so much,
- John
