  16. What's a fuel pump relay, and what exactly is its
  17. function?

  19. Just curious - my '87 Subaru stalled right after being
  20. started a couple of times, the last time having to be towed.
  21. After sitting at the dealership for three days it started
  22. right up for the mechanic.  He swapped the fuel pump relay
  23. (no charge) and said that MIGHT take care of it.  Hasn't
  24. died again since then, so maybe that was it.  But I'd like
  25. to know just what the fuel pump relay IS.
