  24. The Ultra-drive is supposedly fixed on 92 models, all prior years have 
  25. problems. I've a 1990 Grand Caravan, a month ago mine fail totally at
  26. 44,000 mi. The perform the repair and in essense an upgrade to 
  27. '92 level "kit" upgrade. The transmission shifts smoother than alot of
  28. other Chrysler and non-Chrysler trannys. There goes my excuse to buy
  29. a new Caravan :-)

  31. It is a series of fixes inside the transmission relating the the computer
  32. and stuff. The only mod not performed is the change in torque convertor
  33. which relates to slow speed smoothness.

  35. Hopefully, the previous owner has paperwork to show the work was performed.
  36. You can't tell otherwise. An experience owner of a bad transmission 
  37. that was repaired can tell after driving a while.

  39. My complaint is that it took a complete failure before the dealer agreed
  40. to perform the standard upgrade. Basically, wait until it fails completely.
